So sometimes I make this thing I like to call "S*** in a Pan." Basically, I just throw whatever I think sounds good in a pan and cook it. Most of the time, it turns out pretty well. I rarely duplicate "recipes" (since I don't write anything down), so I like to try new ingredients all the time.
Well today, just now, I decided to have Stuff in a Pan. Last night's Stuff in a Pan was awesome, so why not today?
Hmmm...let's just say, I wasn't as fond of today's experiments. I decided to make two dishes: a wrap and a sauced dish. In both dishes, ground turkey was the main ingredient. BUT... neither one seemed to taste good long enough for me to finish them.
Like, you know how sometimes you will taste a dish, and at first, you're like "this is awesome" but then as you eat more of it, you realize something tastes "off," and eventually, cant even stomach to eat the rest of it? Well, that was me...today...like 10 min ago.
It is such a disappointment because I was really hungry. Now, I'm kinda full but partially grossed out. In theory, the flavors could work, but I need to make adjustments to my dishes in order for them to taste less like "mystery meat" and more like "mmmmm, pan roasted ground turkey in Thai chili sauce." So yeah...sadness.
On a different subject...
I FREAKING HATE TUPPERWARE!
Eff you 50's housewives for being obsessed with tupperware parties and making people, fifty years later, think that the more stupid plastic food containers you have, the better your kitchen will be. I am here to say that those do NOT enhance your kitchen, they just create messes and confusion. No matter how organized I make their little cubby, they still seem to look disheveled, and sometimes, fall on my head when I open the darn cabinet. And why cant they ever EVER come out completely dry after I wash them in the dishwasher??? Yes, I have the heated dry on, so idk what else to do. Luckily, my dishwasher is nice enough to dry them most of the way, but I still don't want to have to deal with excess water ever...EVER!!
But let's clarify something really quickly. I am not against all tupperware, just excessive amounts of tupperware.
Unless its fracking Thanksgiving, I don't see why people need as many food containers as they usually have in their houses. Stop it. Just stop. Quit buying all of that stuff. In addition to all of the other useless crap people buy for their kitchens (plastic bell pepper holders...really? You absolutely positively need a special holder that ONLY fits your one bell pepper? give me a break), copious amounts of tupperware for one household, for less than 4 people should not be tolerated anymore!
It's time to back away from the special glad containers that *gasp* snap and lock to ensure freshness, even though they are exactly like the cheaper (and simpler) Kroger version, and just make do with what containers you already have waiting for you at home because, reader, we all know you already have like 10 in your cabinet. Do you really need that extra "4 pack" of quart-sized round tupperware with snowflake designs on the side? No...you don't.
So in conclusion...I'm still hungry, and there is just too much darn tupperware.
The end.

I. Love. You. You're amazing. And yes, tupperware sucks.
ReplyDeletehahahaha I love you too. I commented on your blog too. Did you read them?
ReplyDeleteWhat shit did you make? What flavors are we talkin bout? Im an excellent flavor fixer ;)
ReplyDeleteWell the first one was a simple ground turkey taco...no cheese, no lettuce, no tomato, just turkey. The flavor was fine, but I needed to add more seasoning. The other one was ground turkey in Thai chili sauce...I think I added too much sauce and didnt let it cook with the turkey long enough.
